“Kayla wait!”  Sokka yelled after me as we raced down the hall.  I just ignored him.  “Sokka I’m fine!”  I said then coughed.  But nonetheless, we kept running towards the Fire lord’s room.  
“You guys!”  I yelled when I reached the door.  I walked in and looked around.  Katara looked a bit shocked but her and Zuko seemed fine.  Then I looked at the floor.  There was someone laying on it, but I couldn’t recognize who.  In a few seconds I did.
“What did you do to him?”  I yelled, kneeling next to the body.  His pulse was fine, he was just knocked out.  “You know him?”  Zuko asked me, puzzled.  I looked up at Sokka.  “Remember what I was telling you about my best friend?”  I asked, choking back tears.  He just nodded his head.  “This is him.”  I said quietly, pulling the body into my lap.  I pulled some water out of a vase.  I concentrated on healing him.  “Please Avi.”  I whispered.  I heard him saying something.  “Huh?”  I asked him.  His eyes were barely open.
“I said, smooth milkshake move.”  He said again.  “You dork.”  I said, laughing through my tears.  Avi sat up.  “What’s wrong?”  He asked me, noticing my current state.  “It’s nothing.”  I said, wiping my tears with the back of my hand.  “Zuko, do you have any extra rooms?”  I asked him.  “Yeah down the hall.”  He said absentmindedly.  Avi stood up.  “Here, let me help you.”  He said to me.  He grabbed my hands to pull me up, but as soon as he did I started coughing.  Katara scolded me for not staying in bed, but I ignored her.  I stood up, leaning on Avi.  “I should show you your room.”  I whispered my voice too hoarse to speak.  We walked down the hall, Sokka following us.
“Goodnight.  I hope your cold gets better.”  Avi said, kissing me on the cheek.  “Night.”  I said back.  Once he closed his door I slid onto the floor, coughing.  “Kayla, who is that?”  Sokka asked me.  “He’s my best friend, Sokka.  Nothing else.”  I said, pleading with him.  “It didn’t seem that way when he kissed you.”  He shot back angrily.  “Sokka, it’s a normal thing for us!  Since I was ten!”  I whisper-yelled.  I grabbed onto the wall to stand up.  Sokka caught me before I tumbled down.  “Sokka I love you.  You know that.”  I whispered to him.  “I know.  I guess I’m just, overprotective.  Anyways, shouldn’t your cold be better now?”  He asked me.  “Not for a while.  Can you help me get to bed?”  I asked, smiling up at him.  “Sure.”  He said, picking me up.  I rested my head on his shoulder.  Before I knew it everything blacked out and I was sleeping.
