The next day was dark and gloomy.  Sokka and Zuko had gone somewhere due to their ‘duties.’  (Hehe what a funny word.)  It was raining outside, though normally I love the rain.  I actually ran out to play in it a while.  It reminded me of how my friends and I were back home.  After a few more jumps in puddles I began to sneeze.  And sneeze.  And sneeze some more.  Aang had to come out and get me, followed by mouthful by Katara.  “I know.”  I said repeatedly, along with “I’m sorry.”  When she was done Aang had arrived with blankets.  “Now, you stay here and don’t move.  Do you need anything else?”  She asked, switching her tone to a nice and calm one.  “A-” I stopped, and sneezed.  “Tissue.”  I continued.  She nodded and left me there with Aang.  
“So, I haven’t been able to talk to you much since you got here.”  He said.  I just nodded, avoiding his eyes.  “Kayla….I saw you and Sokka…do you, well….”  His voice trailed off.  I started to cough.  “Look, I’m really tired, and I’m not feeling well.  So I’m going to go to bed.”  I stood up, but it brought over another coughing fit.  Aang caught me before I fell and balanced me.  “I think you should stay here.”  He advised me, worry in his voice.  “No, I need to go lay down.”  I said, trying to convince him.  It worked (thankfully.)  “Alright, but you have to let me help you.”  He said, and I knew it was the only choice.  I sort of leaned on him for support, and we walked to my room.  Once I was in my bed, he wished me good night (it was really late) and left.
I woke up when someone walked into my room.  I kept my eyes shut, and pretended to still be asleep.  They sat on the edge of my bed.  “I se you’ve been sick today.”  The person said to no one.  “I was worried.”  He continued.  I tensed up.  I had made Sokka worry?  He doesn’t worry about anything!  And then my coughing started again.  I couldn’t help but lift my hand to my mouth to cover it up.  “Kayla?  Are you awake?”  He asked me, excitedly.  “Huh?  Sokka?”  I asked sleepily.  I tried to sit up in bed.  Sokka scooted over towards me and sat against the wall with me.  “How are you feeling?”  He asked me.  I felt better, but I was still aching.  A fit of coughing came as an answer to him.  “Kayla, this isn’t just an ordinary cold.  Do you know what it could be?”  He asked me.  I thought for a second.  It could be mono…..No wait!  It’s not that.  I don’t even know what those symptoms are.  “I don’t know.  The last time this happened was the last time anyone made contact with the Spirit World in my time…….”  I stopped talking.  Me and Sokka stared at each other.  “Who would know how to make contact?”  He asked me slowly.  “My best friend.”  I answered, and was about to say something else when I heard a cry from Katara and Zuko’s yell.  “We gotta go!”  I said, and started to run out of my room.
